The addax (Addax nasomaculatus), is also known as the white antelope or screwhorn antelope. This remarkable animal is well-adapted to the harsh desert environment of the Sahara, with a coat that changes color with the seasons: in winter, it’s grayish-brown to blend in with the rocky landscape, and in summer, it turns almost white to reflect the sun's rays and keep cool. The addax is a nomadic grazer, often found in isolated pockets of the Sahara where vegetation is sparse. It prefers areas with sandy and stony deserts, avoiding rocky terrains. They are known to have a preference for flat, open areas where they can spot predators from a distance.
